Yesterday, during a rescue mission involving other dogs, we unexpectedly came across a Labrador mother and her five tiny puppies, only three days old.
Unfortunately, one of the puppies had already passed away, leaving four little ones who had yet to open their eyes. The mother, whom we named Duoduo, was weak and exhausted, yet she showed incredible strength and tenderness towards her surviving pups.
We managed to negotiate with the owner to secure Duoduo and her puppies. Returning to Hulan today, we met them, feeling both the weight of their past hardships and the promise of a better future. Despite her weariness, Duoduo seemed to sense that her struggles were nearing an end.

Our team shared Duoduo’s story and videos online, which sparked widespread concern and support. Many kind-hearted individuals, including international volunteers, offered to help find them loving homes abroad, where they could leave their difficult past behind.
As we placed them gently into our vehicle, we couldn’t help but admire Duoduo’s gentle nature and the strong bond she shared with her puppies. Despite the loss of one, we ensured all were well taken care of, including making the necessary arrangements for the one who didn’t survive.
At an affiliated hospital, foreign partners awaited Duoduo and her pups, ready to provide the medical care and affection they desperately needed. Now safe and surrounded by compassionate caregivers, Duoduo began to relax, comforted by the knowledge that her puppies were in good hands.
As we said goodbye to Duoduo and her little ones, we were filled with a mixture of sorrow for their past and hope for their promising future. Their journey toward finding a new home abroad marked the beginning of a new chapter, one where they could thrive and be cherished.
The memory of Duoduo’s resilience and the kindness of those who came together to rescue her will stay with us, a testament to the transformative power of compassion and determination.
