From her car window, a woman watched a small dog chained outside, braving harsh weather conditions as raindrops froze before hitting the ground.
On closer inspection, she realized that the puppy was not seeking refuge in a nearby booth because an adult dog had already taken up all the space inside.
Nearby, there was an abandoned railway and gatehouse, hinting at a desolate area. The chained puppy was surrounded by empty bowls, indicating it hadn’t been properly fed. One bowl had some old bones, while the other was completely empty.
Concerned for the puppy’s welfare, the woman began regularly visiting and feeding it, ensuring it ate everything before a group of nearby dogs could steal the food.
Throughout this period, no one else seemed to care for the dog, and there were no signs of habitation in the deserted gatehouse.
Determined to find a better situation for the dog, the woman sought help. While she initially struggled to find a suitable place, she eventually located a temporary care facility in Yekaterinburg.
Before the puppy could be adopted, health checks were prioritized and arrangements were made for it to be neutered.
The puppy, named Thomas, turned out to be incredibly friendly and loving, making its initial circumstances all the more troubling.
