When we arrived at the clinic, we discovered a small dog in critical condition, lying helplessly on the floor. The person responsible for the dog’s state was nowhere to be found, and no one knew what had transpired.
Determined to help, we quickly sprang into action to provide the urgent care this little dog desperately needed.
We soon took full responsibility for the pup, naming him Merve. Upon closer inspection, we were shocked to see the extent of his injuries; much of his skin was torn, and he had a broken neck that required stitching.
Additionally, he had a large open wound on his leg.
Our team meticulously treated his injuries, cleaning and suturing the wounds to prevent infection. To our amazement, Merve reacted positively to our care, showing signs of happiness and a good appetite.
Despite his small stature, Merve demonstrated a remarkable will to recover.
Over the following month, Merve’s skin began to heal, and new fur slowly covered the injured areas, restoring some of his cuteness.
However, due to his long period of inactivity, his legs had become weak, making movement difficult. Nonetheless, our dedication to his recovery remained steadfast.
We developed various strategies to encourage Merve to start walking again, and his progress was evident each day. After nearly two months, Merve managed to walk once more, though his steps were still somewhat wobbly.
The sight of Merve walking independently and playing with other dogs filled us with immense joy. We hold onto the hope that in the future, such suffering can be averted for dogs, sparing them from enduring these hardships altogether.
