Safari Guide Faces Down African Bull Elephant in South Africa, Remains Calm as the Animal Moves On (VIDEO)

A safari guide had a tense face-to-face encounter with a wild African elephant in South Africa, captured in a hair-raising video.

The footage shows Steve Baillie, an experienced guide, calmly lying on the ground as a bull elephant approached him in the Balule Game Reserve near Hiedspruit. The elephant acknowledged Baillie before quietly moving on.

Baillie, a highly trained nature guide with more than 24 years of experience, advises against replicating the incident.

He explained that elephants are intelligent and curious creatures; in this case, the young bull wanted to look closer at the people sitting nearby.

However, Baillie emphasized the danger involved in such encounters. “It’s important to remember that I’m a trained professional with decades of experience in the bush,” he said. “These situations can be extremely dangerous and should not be attempted by amateurs.”
