In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Scarlett Johansson disclosed her support for Elizabeth Warren in the upcoming 2020 presidential race.
Johansson’s decision contrasts with the prevailing sentiment in Hollywood, where many adopt a cautious stance, waiting to see how the political landscape unfolds before committing to a candidate.

Despite pressure from her politically active peers to adopt a wait-and-see approach, Johansson has firmly thrown her support behind Warren, expressing concern over the absence of a clear frontrunner in the Democratic primary.
Johansson remarked, “Other Democrats have told me, ‘Oh, it’s early to back someone.’ That worries me because it doesn’t feel that early to me.”

Johansson praised the candidate’s blend of thoughtfulness, progressivism, and pragmatism, highlighting her reasons for endorsing Warren.
She noted, “She feels like someone thoughtful and progressive but realistic. It’s not like her campaign is making these crazy, outlandish promises that seem impossible to reach. There’s a strategy there.”

Johansson also emphasized her commitment to participating in the presidential election, regardless of the Democratic nominee who faces Donald Trump.
She expressed her willingness to contribute to voter engagement efforts through public service announcements or active involvement in voter registration drives.
Johansson lamented the low voter turnout, stating, “I believe if people did vote, our government would look the way it’s supposed to, but people just don’t vote. It baffles me.”
