At the Cannes Film Festival, Scarlett Johansson stepped onto the red carpet in a nostalgic fashion moment.
The 38-year-old actress chose to wear an iconic Prada dress that had previously made waves in 2013.
This vibrant piece, adorned with bold horizontal stripes in orange, pink, and black, along with a prominent ruffle at the hem, had graced the covers of over six major fashion magazines and had been spotted on numerous red carpets.
Johansson’s choice from Prada’s 2011 Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear collection was perfectly complemented by black satin Prada sandals featuring delicate ankle straps and sleek black sunglasses.
Keeping her accessories minimal, she opted for her wedding rings and black-and-gold Monica Vinader hoop earrings.
Johansson exuded timeless glamour with her hair elegantly pulled back into a bun and sporting a makeup look focused on a subtle black winged eye and glossy pink lips.
Interestingly, the dress debuted on the red carpet at the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards, worn by Hailee Steinfeld.
Though Steinfeld’s version featured slight modifications with floor-length and thick black straps, I began the dress’s journey into fashion stardom.
Following Steinfeld’s appearance, the dress became a sensation in Hollywood, gracing the covers of prestigious magazines like InStyle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle.
Many celebrities, including Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel, Thandie Newton, and Amanda Seyfried, embraced the dress for their major magazine covers. Tina Fey notably donned the dress for InStyle’s April 2013 issue.
Johansson’s affinity for Prada was evident throughout the Cannes festivities. Before her red carpet appearance, she dazzled in a lime green Prada dress at a party hosted by Air Mail and Warner Brothers Discovery.
She was accompanied by her husband, Colin Jost, who looked dashing in a black tuxedo.
Earlier in the day, for the premiere of her new Wes Anderson film, “Asteroid City,” Johansson donned yet another striking Prada creation—a pink column gown with white bralette detail, elegantly paired with silver heels.
Walking the red carpet alongside her husband Jost and esteemed co-stars such as Adrien Brody, Tom Hanks, and Steve Carell, Johansson epitomized Hollywood glamour and timeless style at the Cannes Film Festival.
