Last Update:

Renowned actress Scarlett Johansson’s latest project, Wes Anderson’s upcoming film ‘Asteroid City,’ is generating buzz ahead of its June 16 release date. The movie boasts an impressive ensemble cast, with Johansson among the notable names featured.

Alongside Johansson, the film features a star-studded lineup including Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Tilda Swinton, Adrien Brody, Brian Cranston, and others.

Despite Johansson’s stature in the industry, her role in ‘Asteroid City’ comprises only brief appearances within the approximately 100-minute runtime.

During a recent interview, Johansson made headlines by disclosing her earnings for her role in ‘Asteroid City.’ Despite her limited screen time, the amount she revealed raised eyebrows and sparked curiosity.

Johansson’s disclosed salary for ‘Asteroid City’ amounted to $4,000 weekly. Considering the film’s two-month shooting schedule, her total earnings from the project reached approximately $36,000. This figure is notably lower than her usual earnings as one of Hollywood’s leading actresses.

In addition to her revelations about ‘Asteroid City,’ Johansson has been embroiled in a legal dispute with Disney regarding the release of another film, ‘Black Widow.’

The disagreement stemmed from a contractual agreement between Johansson and Disney, linking her salary to the box-office performance of ‘Black Widow.’

Following Disney’s decision to release ‘Black Widow’ simultaneously in theaters and on the Disney Plus streaming platform, Johansson filed a lawsuit against the production company in a Los Angeles court.

However, the matter was resolved through a confidential contract following tense negotiations and public statements.
