This touching interaction, captured at Thailand’s Elephant Nature Park, holds profound significance for Ploy Thong.

She endured years of hardship, having previously served as a tourist attraction in the Pattaya region, giving rides to visitors for 16 years. Ploy Thong’s life was a struggle navigating her surroundings solely through her trunk.

Her journey took a turn when the Save Elephant Foundation intervened, freeing another elephant named Bua Keaw.

During this mission, the staff noticed Ploy Thong’s challenges and initiated negotiations for her release. Eventually, she found refuge at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai.

The heartfelt encounter with her newfound elephant companions occurred on February 3, marking the beginning of Ploy Thong’s path to freedom.

It was not long before the group then took note, heading over to inspect the new arrival, touching her with their trunks in an affectionate way

The staff at Elephant Nature Park expressed, “Ploy Thong is yet another elephant we have chosen to rescue.

Despite her complete blindness, she tirelessly carried tourists daily, enduring saddles and riders from sunrise to sunset. Guided by her trunk, she maneuvered through each journey.”

During the mission to secure Bua Keaw’s freedom, Ploy Thong’s liberation journey commenced. Her story serves as a testament to resilience and the power of compassion.
