LekLek’s journey began with a grueling 12-hour trip from OmKoi district to ENP, led by organizations like Stews 4 Elephants (S4E Global) and Future for Elephants. Together with her mother, Moh Loh, LekLek was rescued from a grim fate in a circus camp.

Moh Loh, a former logging elephant, endured years of hardship before their rescue became possible thanks to the efforts of dedicated individuals, including Gertrude Andraschko, Robyn Beasley, Dr. Dawn Miller, and Miss Linee Keswani. Saengduean Lek Chailert, the passionate owner of ENP, played a pivotal role in uniting everyone to bring them to safety.

After undergoing a quarantine period, the duo was released into ENP’s lush, expansive grounds. For the first time, they tasted freedom, leaving behind the struggles of their past lives.

LekLek has since blossomed in her new environment. With no constraints holding her back, she explores her surroundings with an endless curiosity and bursts of energy. Her playful zoomies, racing around her enclosure, are a joy to witness. Though she can be a bit territorial with newcomers, her vibrant personality has charmed everyone at the park.

In contrast, Moh Loh exudes calm and grace, offering a steady presence for her lively calf. Her gentle rumbles guide LekLek, embodying the park’s philosophy of providing care and respect for these majestic animals.

The sight of LekLek thriving—her strength and weight increasing steadily—delights all who see her. Her waving trunk and tail are reminiscent of a carefree toddler at play, symbolizing the joy and innocence she has reclaimed.
