Penguins are absolutely adorable, but most of us wouldn’t even consider keeping them as a pet.
One family in Japan though had other ideas, and when given a chance to rescue a penguin by treating it as a pet, they didn’t shy away from it.
They named him Lulu, and he’s probably the weirdest pet we’ve ever seen. Real TV made a short documentary about Lulu in 1996, and it was very entertaining, to say the least.
The documentary was made was Lala, about 10 years old.
He spends his days living in a highly air-conditioned room and loves to roam the streets of his town.
His favourite place in town is of course the fish market. He loves going back there.
So his family decided to pack a backpack and teach him to get fish for them and when he goes to the market.
Villagers love seeing Lala with his Pingu backpack waddling through the streets of their town!
It seems that Lala was accidentally caught in a fishing net, so the family took him home and raised him to be healthy again.
When he was released back into the wild, he kept coming back to his family, so they decided to adopt him as a pet and give him a home.
Although the conditions are not normal for a penguin, Lala seems happy and comfortable with them!
