Three little lions gather to meet their dad for the first time

You don’t have to watch The Lion King to see a cute cub bonding with its lion father. In fact, you just need to go to the Oregon Zoo!

A video released by the Oregon Zoo shows three cubs on their first outdoor adventure with their father. These three girl cubs couldn’t leave their dad alone, and that’s the cutest thing ever!

They all fight for their father’s attention, even when the father didn’t want to!
Kamali, Zalika, and Angalia were six months old when they went on their first outside adventure with their father, Zawadi Mungu. Neka arrives to check on the cubs once in the video but mostly leaves the four alone for a bonding time.

Neka has been with him since birth. She is getting a much-needed rest!

“We were confident that Zawadi would be lenient with his cubs right away, and we’re glad we were right that the cubs lunged at him right away,” said Laura Weiner, Oregon Zoo’s Africa Keeper Head. when they saw him… I think all that attention must have been overwhelming because he quickly jumped onto a rock.”

Zawadi jumping on that rock did not stop his three children. They all made their way to the rock and continued to try to get their father’s attention. Zawadi tried to bare his teeth several times, but that didn’t scare any of them for long. As one cub backed away, another cub entered to get their father’s attention.

Zawadi and Neka, along with another lioness named Kya, were brought to the Oregon Zoo for more collaborative breeding. Kamili, Zalika, and Angalia are three lion cubs born from Zawadi for this purpose.

They were their mother’s first litter. The three adult lions bonded very quickly after arriving at the Oregon Zoo. Jennifer Davis, the curator from the Oregon Zoo, released an earlier statement about the three lions after their arrival.

“They’re all about the same age,” Davis said. “That made it easy for them to bond and become a unified pride. We are pleased that there is a strong connection between Neka and Zawadi. ”

Neka and Zawadi are now proud parents.

The lion cubs from a young age have unique and different personalities, so they are given names to match their personalities. The Angalia has always been a ferocious cub, so it got its name from the Swahili word for ‘lookout.’

All the workers know that they will have to look out for her! Zalika is the Swahili word for “well-born” and was named to refer to her father. Kamali is the smallest cub and had health problems after birth. So she was given the name Kamali, which comes from the Shona people of Zimbabwe and surrounding countries, to refer to a deity who protects babies.

If this video is any indication, these three girls are definitely daddy girls!
They’re both craving for his attention and won’t take that as an answer. Zawadi can say goodbye to his lazy sunbathing when there are cubs around. Check out the adorable lion family in the video below. If you want to learn more about the lions at the Oregon Zoo, click here!
