In Missouri, a stray pup named Little Toes once called a heap of rubbish her bed, patiently waiting for a guardian angel to change her fate.
That wish came true when a compassionate person connected with Stray Rescue of St. Louis, alerting them to her plight.

A rescue team led by Donna Lochmann quickly sprang into action. Upon arrival, they spotted Little Toes scavenging through trash, undernourished and thin.
Although initially shy and hiding behind a trash can, Little Toes was soon charmed by Donna, who used a can of sausages to gain her trust. Intriguingly, the little dog bypassed the food, approaching Donna with eyes that seemed to plead for help.

“It felt like she was asking, ‘Are you here to help me?’,” Donna recounted.
With gentle care, Donna led Little Toes to her vehicle. Feeling secure, the weary pup nestled into Donna’s lap and fell asleep during the drive to the shelter.

The name Little Toes was chosen because her paws were cold when they found her. Yet, it was her warm, endearing nature that quickly won over the shelter staff.
At the shelter, she received crucial care and TLC, gradually bouncing back from her rough days. In return, Little Toes showered her caretakers with loving hugs.

Ready for the next chapter, Little Toes transitioned to a foster home. Her new family quickly became enamored with her, realizing life wouldn’t be the same without her. They ultimately made the joyful decision to adopt her, gifting Little Toes the forever home she so richly deserved.
Today, thanks to the vigilant individual who first reported her and the devoted rescuers who ensured her safety, Little Toes will never have to endure loneliness or hunger again.
