Circus animals often endure harsh conditions, including illegal capture, poor treatment, and forced performances.
Tragically, many do not survive to experience freedom. However, some animals are fortunate enough to receive a second chance.

One such animal is Hoover, a tiger who spent most of his life confined to a small cage in a circus in Peru. Subjected to physical abuse with whips and sticks, Hoover’s situation seemed bleak.

Fortunately, Animal Defenders International received an anonymous tip that led to a raid on the circus and Hoover’s rescue.
Previously part of a group of twelve tigers, Hoover is now the sole survivor of his group. After his rescue, he was transported to Big Cat Rescue in Florida. There, Hoover has the freedom to explore and enjoy life outside captivity.
