Two unique jaguar cubs appeared at the Leningrad Zoo in Saint Petersburg, charming visitors with their playful antics.

Born on March 11, the one-month-old cubs—a striking black one and a beautifully spotted sibling—are the latest additions to the zoo’s animal family. Their proud parents, Agnes and Rock, have welcomed their fifth litter together.

Zoo officials report that both cubs are healthy, weighing around 3 kg, and their teeth have started emerging.

Unlike many other species, jaguars are solitary animals, so father Rock will not participate in raising the cubs, who will be cared for separately.

Svetlana Shelgunova, the Head of the Department of Predatory Mammals at the zoo, expressed her joy at the cubs’ lively behavior.

“Now they are showing their mischievous side. You can see how they climb on their mother’s back, engaging in play with her and each other. Soon, they will start venturing out of their dens,” she stated.

Footage from the zoo captured a heartwarming moment when the cubs were placed in a hay-filled bucket to keep warm, with one cub even practicing its roar.

The video concludes with mother Agnes peering out from her den, eagerly waiting for her little ones to return.
