Couple Rescues Giant Sea Turtle Stuck Between RocksThe poor creature had gotten itself trapped between the rocks when the couple happened to come across it. This type of sea turtle can weigh up to 350 pounds, so getting it wedged out was no easy task.
Green sea turtles are one of the coolest ocean-dwelling species. They are also one of the biggest, growing to over 350 pounds in adulthood. It makes them quite hard to move around — something that one couple in Oman found out recently when they were trying to rescue one.

The sea turtle had gotten trapped between a few large rocks on the beach and could not move when the girl and her boyfriend happened to pass by.
They were walking along the shore when they saw the stuck sea turtle, and immediately, they knew they had to help. If they didn’t do something, it was clear that the turtle would not make it.
However, simply lifting it out from between the rocks proved quite challenging.
“What do you think?” the girl asks her boyfriend. “Maybe we can get something under it? I think it needs to go up.”
The girl held tight onto the side of the turtle and pulled at the top part of the shell while her boyfriend tried to provide leverage from underneath, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. The poor sea turtle was super stuck, and no matter what they did, they couldn’t get it to budge.
They decided to try a different strategy.
They would both get underneath the turtle, this time to push it upwards.
The quiet turtle instantly sprang to life as soon as they started pushing.
It began waving its flipper around wildly, almost hitting the man in the head. The animal was severely distressed and desperately wanted to return to the water.
Ultimately, they found that the turtle’s predicament was no match for their human muscles.
They needed more leverage. They dug out a little area around the turtle in the sand. Then the girl grabbed a big wooden board and used it to pry the turtle out while the boyfriend pushed from the other side with all his strength.
It made us quite worried for the boyfriend while we were watching. It honestly looked like he was about to throw his back out.
Luckily, before anyone could get injured, the turtle finally started to move.
The turtle assisted them by pushing as hard as it could against the sand with its flippers.“Awww, come on!” the girl can be heard shouting.
The three were using every last bit of energy they had, but thankfully, the combination of all three of their efforts was enough. In one final push, they heaved, hoed, and launched the stuck turtle from its spot between the rocks.
Everyone breathed a giant sigh of relief, the turtle included.
“We did it! High five! Oh my god. We did it!” said the girl.
The camera panned over to show the boyfriend’s face. He looked completely exhausted.
After a few minutes of resting, the beautiful animal began to work its way back down the beach and into the ocean.
A few seconds later, it disappeared into the waves. Just like that, the green sea turtle was gone.
The girl and her boyfriend saved the turtle’s life that day, and although they will probably never see the lovely creature again, we’re sure that it is very thankful. Watching the video of their rescue definitely brought a smile to our faces.
