White lions are known for their distinctive color mutation, making them a rare sight even in their native habitats in South Africa and zoological parks around the globe.
According to Pabich, these majestic animals often face significant challenges during birth due to potential defects or maternal rejection, which makes the successful birth of triplets on January 28 even more remarkable.
Pabich described how Azira, the 2-1/2-year-old mother lioness, has provided exceptional care to her cubs, ensuring they are well-fed and protected.

In contrast, Sahim, the 3-1/2-year-old father, takes on a protective role, guarding the neighboring enclosure and issuing warning roars to deter any threats to his young family.
With an estimated global population of around 90 white lions, this event is a significant addition to the conservation of the species.
The zoo’s latest arrivals are a symbol of hope and a reminder of the beauty and resilience found in nature.
