These tulips are giving new meaning to the term ‘flower beds’ – as little harvest rats curl up inside them.
Though fragile looking, the colorful flowers are strong enough to support their tiny guests as they run up the stems and curl up amongst the petals.
A series of cute photos showing pollen-covered rats lying down with only their noses and tails sticking out from the flowers.
The harvest rats were discovered by 52-year-old photographer Miles Herbert of Ringwood, Hampshire.
“Mice love the smell of pollen and climb inside flowers to eat stamens, often falling asleep inside the flower,” said Miles.
“It was fun to take the pictures, and I’m really pleased to see them again.
“My favorite is the mouse perched on top of the red tulips.”
